1971
The founder of the company, Bernd Reinecker, was asked to produce a documentary film for Medical Doctors of the University of Heidelberg, which should be projected and magnified on a screen. Bernd Reinecker's ambition has been awaken and the technician started working.
Day and night he brood about his files, screwed cameras with tables, put multiple lenses into them and experienced as long as he needed to be satisfied, eventually. As a result of this, the first videomagnifier in Europe was born and a company with track records until today.
Development of the first video magnifier in Europe: Videomat/Videomatic
The first milestone of the videomatic series by Reinecker Reha-Technik GmbH was created: A black and white video monitor in combination with a Vidicon-Tubecamera, a lense offering a fixed focal distance and a height adjustable frame to adjust magnification.
1972
Placing of the cornerstone. From now on Bernd Reinecker and his brother started tinkering, pottering, developing and of course selling.
1975
Establishing of the recently created company. Bernd Reinecker did enlarge his company and concluded a contract to erect the first own company building.

1979
Acceptance of assistive optical aids by the German Health Insurances
An important milestone for people with low vision was the judgement of the Federal Social Court of 24.04.1979: People with low vision, who cannot read just by means of optical aids, like telescopes, are eligible for video magnifiers.
1980
Due to a substantial demand for video magnifiers, the numbers of Reinecker employees grew steadily and was 15 after only five years. Thus, the company had to move again into a new building on 6 December 1980.

1985
Opening of the first Reinecker affiliate in Winsen/Luhe, near Hamburg, in November 1985.
1986
Due to the continuous growth, the company had to move again with now 50 employees into the new company building in the industrial park Sandwiese in Alsbach-Hähnlein, near Frankfurt/M.
The current Headquarters without warehouse.
1987
Opening of the affiliate "South" in Burgau, Bavaria.
In the next coming years, the already existing production hall and the Reinecker Headquarters in Alsbach-Hähnlein had to be extended.

1988
the Central Warehouse for the health insurances as well as the Reinecker Service-Center had to move into another building and was extended shortly by a gazebo.

Videomatic EC was launched: the first reading system in full colour with an integrated electronical CCD-Chip-camera.
1993
The first vocal system LeseAs Type1 was launched.
1993
Opening of three new affiliates in Berlin, Cologne and Gera-Bieblach in order to offer nationwide service.
1994
Development of the first truly mobile reading system: MAXLUPE in black and white.
1995
The first EC-school-system had been launched. This special reading was based on the individual demands of pupils and students.
1996
Videomatic EC-Autofocus V1.0
The innovation in development of reading systems. Videomatic Ec was equipped with an autofocus camera.
1996
25th anniversary of Reinecker Reha-Technik GmbH.
The company and its affiliates have been well established nationwide and also internationally.
1998
Opening of the first affiliate abroad, Reinecker Reha-Technik Nederland B.V, Geldermalsen, The Netherlands.
1999
MAXLUPE color V1.0, the mobild system in true colour mode was launched.
2000
Implementation of a QMS (Quality Management System) according to DIN EN 46001: 1996 scoping Design, Development, Production, Assembling and Maintanance of video magnifiers, vocal systems for blind people and complete workstations for people with low vision.
2003
Videomatic uno bravo was awarded by the eligible Innovationsprize at the special show "Innovations" on the occasion of REHACARE 2003.
2005
Meike Reinecker was appointed 2nd Managing Director beside Bernd Reinecker.
Development and launch of Videomatic 75. The first basic system in true colour offering a flicker free display due to the true 75Hz-technology

Development of the quality cachet LVHD (Low Vision High Definition)/FullLVHD. This sign assures the user having chosen a superior system in picture quality. As all components have been optimized one to each other, the user can be sure, having a solide reading system that offers fun of reading again.
Videomatic LUX – LVHD-Premium-video magnifier. The first full ergonomic reading system - screen and operating buttons can be placed according to the individual and ergonomical needs of the user.
Videomatic 75 AF – LVHD- video magnifier offers reading in 75Hz technology in combination with a CRT monitor.
2009
MANO – the smallest and most light weight opto-electronic magnifier by Reinecker has been launched: 139g only, small enough to be put into any pocket and big enough to read and write comfortably.
